What's New order

Not sure if this is a bug or if it is supposed to work this way. While wordings have been corrected, I find that items listed in What's New are in no particular order. For example, my page shows things in this order this morning:

4 days ago (5 entries)
1 week ago (8 entries)....

Is this correct?

It's actually working as intended. Older items that have new comments are jumping back up to the top of the page. i.e. it's the date of the latest comment that is controlling the positioning of the item on the What's New page.

Your point is well taken however. I think we need to fix the display methodology here. In particular I think the main action item needs to be the featured comment showing the current date and time. Wording will need to be tweaked a bit. And we can also add the original post date in another location once a subsequent comment causes the entire item to jump back up to the top of What's New (in case a new reader wants to know the date of the original post that brought the thread into existence).

Stay tuned I'll put in a task for Programming about this.

While you're looking into dates, we had a classmate ask if the year could be included with the date in the "comments" that are put on peoples' profile pages. I think these comments are also the ones that show up in the "What's New" section (but I haven't verified this). If this request dovetails with what you're doing to the "What's New" page, great. If not - can it be added to an appropriate place on the "master enhancement list"?

Thanks. Mark.

While I never noticed it before, on our site as well, the notifications are not in any order either.
Maybe they are arranging by size? LOL

Mark I'll check with Programming and see if the year appears after a year has passed

Steve they are in perfect chronological order. Again if you look at the date of the last comment on the post, that's the date we're sorting by. I already have a request into Programming to make the display order more clear.

Yes, the year appears once the post reaches one year old.

Thank you for checking. I'll pass this along. I'd like to tell the classmate who asked about the year that you "made the change" in response to his question but I wouldn't want to open the "request" floodgates. That said, it must be noted that your responsiveness to questions and issues is the best customer service I encounter among all sites I use/visit. And your commitment to ongoing improvement is outstanding. CC folks provide excellent value and service. Thanks.
