RE: Thanksgiving...one more...!

Kyle,
Thanks, this is great..i think i wanted an "easy way to explain" the right click/left click cover the said article or joke, or whatever little image in preparation to "paste", even if using a Mac! I will use your instructions when i try to pass along the "how" of copying, when asked by other admins who might not have practiced it enough before they get discouraged and "give up" trying. Does that make any sense? While there is no "easy button" for them, it is not as bad as it "sounds" and i do not want them to give up or cease to Try and try again, if at first they don't succeed!
Thanks for your help. It is appreciated!
Thanks for helping all of us old dogs learn "new tricks"...i was trying to pass your knowledge along without having to channel your thoughts! Have Fun anyway!

RE: Thanksgiving...one more...!

It seems that what you are asking is "How do I get the image that is attached to this forum thread to be saved to my hard drive so that I can then use that image as a background or image on my website?" Is that right?

Step 1: Click on the attachment. This will bring up the graphic in another window so you can see if you really want that image.
Step 2: Right-click (assuming PC not MAC) on the image that you see
Step 3: choose the "Save Picture As..." option. This will let you save the graphic to your hard drive.
Step 4: Type in a name that you will remember and save it to a place where you will be able to find it.

That is all there is to it to save the image to your hard drive.

Now to use that image on your website:
Step 1: Get to the Announcement or Home Page Content edit area.
Step 2: Click the IMAGE button
Step 3: Click the BROWSE button
Step 4: go to the location you saved the file (step 4 above)
Step 5: Click the Open.
Step 6: Click the UPLOAD button. The image is now saved in your File Vault, so you can use it now or in the future.
Step 7: adjust width/height and click OK to insert the image into your webpage.

Is this what you wanted?

RE: Thanksgiving...one more...!

Sorry, Kyle...i even have trouble explaining what needs to "be explained!"
When trying to "explain" how one "saves" or "copies", before saving or pasting, there must be a "simple" way to describe the use of the mouse, and the differences if you don't have right click/left click options...(while i am able to demonstrate it, you have a better way of making "word pictures" for all to understand, especially those new to the process.) When the simplicity is discovered, so many things seem easier to understand, and "saving" for a background, etc becomes more obvious. Especially when one discovers that almost "anything" can be saved/and or copied then saved, and used for a background...Does any of this make sense? Trial and error seem the best way for me to learn, but you both have the gift of making the seemingly difficult more simple, which empowers all of us to find "success"! We owe you a world of Thanks!
So Thanks! even if i am unable to explain myself, or the question! Sorry! Have a great day, anyway!

Here's one more Thanksgiving "gif"...
May you all have a most wonderful Thanksgiving! As we remember to count our Blessings, we are Thankful for Brad and Crew! And for all the "sharing" that goes on here in these forums.
You are appreciated!
Thanks again!
(perhaps Kyle or Brad could "explain" to some who have asked...What's the easiest way to "explain" the "copy" process, with specific reference to the cursor activity? When i am asked, i can't really find the words for it,(a room full of teenagers taught me after much trial and error!) so would most appreciate your intuitive take on how to let others know that it is much easier that it "sounds"!? Sorry...inquiring minds might want to know.

Wow, thank you Dawn. All I can really say to that whole post is it just puts a smile on my face.

You know it's interesting, these forums were started with the expectation that people would ask questions, we would answer, and everyone would be able to benefit from those answers. One thing I never expected is how much Admins would help other Admins here. It's common to find questions already answered before we get to them. You gals and guys are really good too, your answers are almost always dead on. The end result is better web sites and thus better experiences for the whole class. It's a great spirit of cooperation here.

RE: Need Backgrounds

Okay, I am at work on a cold rainy day here in Virginia and I just read Pam's story and I am crying and all of the sudden I feel my spirits lifted.

Back on January 21st I joined CC and set up a website for my class as we had our upcoming 30th Class Reunion. Brad and his crew have done so much more than just help us build our websites...their fast customer service can't be beat anywhere, their humor and "realness" make us all feel normal...and now us administrators being able to "give back" something in return makes my heart feel so good inside. I feel so honored to be a part of the CC family and have from day one, felt like this was meant to be. This is why I am on this Help Forum everyday...not just to get help to build my website, but to help others. And what better way to help someone than to pray for their Father.

God Bless,
Dawn

RE: animated falling leaves

There are two different falling leaves. One from DynamicDrive.com (the one I recommend) and the Marquee style (the one you implemented). The Marquee style has the leaves falling in a straight line.

Your falling leaves are doing what they are supposed to be doing (falling in a straight line).

If you want the falling leaves that move all over the page, use the one suggested in www.dynamicDrive.com (see previous posts).

If you still need help, let me know.
