The new Class Connection Facebook app is LIVE!

Here's what to do next:

1) Click your Preferences link on your class web site and enable the Class Connection app (second option from the top). Press Save Page at the bottom of the page.

2) Click the "Class Connection" link under your MEMBER FUNCTIONS and join the app yourself.

3) Use your "Email the Class" function to paste the message below to invite your classmates to Class Connection.

Here is an email you can modify to your liking and copy and paste to your classmates:

I have great news today for our classmates on Facebook! You can now do all of the things you can do on our class web site from inside Facebook. It's called Class Connection, and you'll find it's very simple to join and use. Follow these 3 quick steps to get connected:

Log into our class web site at $homepage$.

Click the "Class Connection" link under Member Functions.

On the Class Connection Join Screen click the blue "Join Class" button and accept the app permissions.

That's it - you're Facebook connected!

There are some exciting new features available here such as the ability to send your Notify Me notices to the Facebook notification globe. You can use the Easy Invite tool to help us find missing classmates and invite them to join our class. Class Connection also provides a Visit Another Class feature that allows you to browse around other classes.

Here's a few important things you should know:

Everything you do on Class Connection is mirrored on our class web site. Everything you do on our class web site is mirrored on Class Connection. I.E. they work as one. Class Connection is just a convenient method of participating with our class from the Facebook environment.

Class Connection is 100% as private and secure as our class web site. No personal/private data whatsoever is shared with Facebook. The Class Connection developers made an overview video about the topic of privacy here:

Your Profile privacy settings are honored on Class Connection. Only the people who you're already permitted to view your Profile are the same people who can view your Profile using Class Connection. Click Edit Profile if you wish to review these settings.

TIP: For quick access to Class Connection add to Facebook Favorites. See example here:

I hope you enjoy this new Facebook connection for our class!

Thank you to all who helped us reach this significant goal! I hope you and your classmates enjoy the new Class Connection Facebook app.

Are we to add our website name where it says: $homepagelink$ or will it do it automatically?

When I copied and pasted sample letter above, on to Email the Class it had the same words, not my class name. I didn't catch it until after I sent it.

That happens automatically.

Read the rest of my message.

This is the second time I've mentioned the problem.

It didn't for me? I check the saved draft and it's the same wording. I can send you a copy of the letter to see if you get our school name?

Same thing happens to me also. %homepagelink$ remains just that in the messages.

These variables are entered when you send the email, try sending yourself a test.

I have been so busy with work that I am WAY behind the 8 Ball on this. I don't even know what it is, other than perhaps a Facebook page for all of us? I'm not sure I want to participate in it, but since I don't know what it's all about, I'd best not speak before I peek.

Where can I find more information about this?

Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at 5:57 PM - Response #8

Sorry Randy, I send a message from Message Forum to a classmate and it arrives in his mailbox with $homepagelink$
not the actual url of the site.

If you're going on Class Connection I strongly suggest you watch the 12 overview videos available on the Class Connection YouTube channel here: It'll take you about an hour to get through them all but it's important you know this information before turning on the app.

The original message had $homepagelink$
This has been changed to $homepage$ In the message above.

$homepagelink$ doesn't work $homepage$ Does work to replace the name with your home page.

Also, as Brad mentioned in his recent email, the reference to PREFERENCES is the link in your Admin Functions section of your website, not on Facebook.

Why did you charge my account when I have closed it and did not authorize the charge?

Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 12:38 PM - Response #12

We didn't. Your site is in free mode. This isn't the place for this discussion though. If you think you have been charged for something please call our Customer Service Dept. to discuss. Maybe you're talking about your domain name, which is something separate from your web site subscription.
