While visiting Fenger High School site I clicked on there "For 50s Folks" link and then on the old tv link. This brought up a warning that my computer had been infected with a virus and to call the phone number to remove it. I would like to let them know about this.

Are referring to http://www.fengerjune1958.com/class_custom7.cfm and then http://www.fengerjune1958.com/class_custom7.cfm#OldiesTV ??

There's nothing there that I could detect.

Could be a virus on your computer warning (not the site) or a false positive. The phone# thing is a typical scam thing - so don't pay them anything if you call Cool

Yes, that is what I am referring too.
Others have reported to me that they have received the same notices. It is the site not my computer. I am simply trying to warn them them so they can correct it on their website.

Well, the link on that site from Xoteria is a FAKE message to get your money. Do NOT call them. This is a typical way to SCAM people. Here's the basic scam wording with variations in the phone number (your number is different):

Quote:

855-972-3537 phone number is being used by fraudulent websites, support-tech-group.com for instance, to trick you into thinking that your computer is infected with adware and spyware. It's a fake Firewall alert. DO NOT fall for this tech support scam! Your computer is not infected with the viruses mentioned in the fake warning. If you got this pop-up, please close the tab or browser and do not follow the on screen instructions. If you keep constantly getting this fake warning then your computer might be infected with adware, spyware or other malware. Please use this guide to remove 855-972-3537 tech support scam and any associated malware.

Here's how the fake security alert reads:

(1) Firewall Alert:

YOUR COMPUTER MAY HAVE ADWARE / SPYWARE VIRUS

Call 855-972-3537 immediately for assistance on how to remove potential viruses. The call is toll-free.

Possible network damages if the viruses are not removed immediately: UNKNOWN ... blah blah blah

see: http://deletemalware.blogspot.com/2014/11/855-972-3537-scam-your-computer-may.html

Or see this one that says

Quote:

This is a bogus claim, and an attempt to make you pay $199 for their “services”. The pop-up will have the following alert: .. same as what I showed earlier ...

But YES, those fake scare links need to be removed since some may believe it to be true.

Looks like Upchucky Music is no longer in operation - must have been busted Shocked

P.S.
I bet Xoteria either expired their domain or got hacked. It's being redirected to a site that is doing this. I'm thinking this since I bet the original links were good.
