Judy, even a classmate who has not even logged into the site for years will (should) still get notify emails for all the categories they've selected in their Notify Me page.

And as you can see in some of these forum threads, bounces have begun working again - at least for some of us.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->
Email is still flawed regards "bounces". Messages between classmates do get bounces, but not sending class emails.
Class Creator's email function appears to still be a work in progress - with changing symptoms as some programmer continues to try to get it right. Lately, between myself and my test user, it looks like I usually do get emails sent for immediate and once-daily choices for all the various notify categories, but... not always.

As far as bounces, I got 6 more new bounces last week, where all of them were some form of "mailbox disabled" or "no such user". But... After two years, I finally got three bounces a couple weeks ago - which should suggest those new 6 were working back then. Or not.

And yesterday, I got an immediate notify at my alt Gmail address 20 minutes after a comment was posted in a member profile, but still haven't seen that email at my ATT primary address. Not to mention that my Read stats which used to hit 100% more often than not several months ago now continue to range around 60%-85%.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->

Under Admin Functions > Statistics > Notify Me Statistics, you can see which classmates have which boxes checked to receive emails, either Immediately, Once Daily, or Never. The only reasons, it seems to me, that classmates are not receiving emails is their email is not valid, i.e. has not been updated. But this should generate a bounced email. Although I'm beginning to see bounced emails once again, after not seeing them for a long time, I'm not sure the bounced email problem is completely resolved. Your idea, in another post, of sending the email via your personal gmail account, as a check to see how many bounces you receive, is a good idea.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/147.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->

Hi Sue,

We don't have an area to add classmate specific notes. If you are accepting checks and add anything to your Payment Preferences > Check Payable To field and address area that entire area appears on the receipt for anyone who selected paying by check so you can add some notes there but again they are not classmate specific.

it would be so nice if we had the ability to write a note on the RECEIPTS that are sent to classmates after they make a payment/donation.

(There IS a place for us to write a “NOTE TO SELF” regarding the payment.)

Thanks for your consideration!

What I'm going to suggest would only be the beginning of the process you would go through and presumes you have uploaded the names of all your classmates.

I see you have designated as missing those classmates for whom you don't have an e-mail address, so the approach I would take is to download a class list into Excel and filter the results. This will give you the number of missing out of the total.

I haven't ever done it but also within Excel there must be a way of displaying the results in a pie . Hopefully others who have done something like this will chime in as will someone who may have a clever way of presenting the chart on the site.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/144.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->

RE: Questionable Hack Issue

Hi Mac,

When someone joins the admin gets a new join notification that should show if the name was altered. This is sometime fine as the individual may have changed their name listed from Robert to Bob etc, however, it also shows if the name was changed entirely.

If a user forgot their password or no longer has access to an old email address to retrieve it they may think it is okay to just join again and just picked a name that had not joined. This is why we notify admins of the join and outline what changed so you are clear which name was added and what name it was added under in case you need to add that name back in.

So it is working as intended and the classmate may have just taken a shortcut by trying to join under another name rather than reaching out to admins for assistance.

If their information does not look consistent with what you know about the classmate you can delete their entry under Admin Functions > Manage Classmates and they will no longer be able to login.

We also offer a verification option under Admin Functions > Preferences where you can turn on that option and new joins remain pending until an admin has verified them.

Questionable Hack Issue

I have been the Root Administrator since 2008, when our class website began on Classcreator. An issue with a duplicate name needs verification. At first glance, the name of this new person was a name that I knew had already joined our site back in 2011, when we were getting ready for our 40th class reunion in 2012. At the top of his profile page, it showed his name. I continued down the page and saw my Admin note with a different classmate’s name. That said, I continued to the class list in Managing Classmates, where I found the original member and a duplicate name with the original name replaced. The first original name joined the site in 2011, and the duplicate name joined in 2025.

My question or concern is: How did someone change the original name to a different name? As an administrator for as long as I have, I thought I had taken all the necessary steps to keep our site secure.

Any thoughts? Or has anyone else experienced this issue?

My Personal Home Page Problem

I am one of the admins for our class website. Recently, I noticed that my profile, first thing when I sign-in as myself does not have the HOME PAGE (which I can get by hitting HOME PAGE button on left. Instead it shows message center type of messaging.

I must have mistakenly made this the default at some point in time when I did not realize it. In fact, I need direction as to where the home page that everyone sees when they sign-in is setup. I will continue searching, but I am hoping you can get me an answer than I can find it on the fly.

I have attached a screen shot of what I am getting now...I have a second dummy profile with no admin privileges and the same thing happens. So, I am thinking everyone is getting this, or something similar. I am stumped, and I am certain it is a simple thing, but it is escaping me at this time. Thank you.
