RE: Processing Refunds

I just went to issue a refund for a classmate who accidentally purchased an extra ticket for an event. I reduced the invoiced amount for Transaction ID#: 492442 to 0 but received this response:

We're sorry, but we were unable to complete the refund at this time.

DECLINED (no transactionResponse)
why?
I believe I have uncovered the problem.Class Creator's 7-day hold means your system can't push back money it hasn't released yet — which is why the refund quietly refuses to take, with no error message provided.

Will the refund sail through once the payment has cleared?
Thank you.

Hi Beverly,

Your embedded slideshow had a height of 1200 set. I made it 500 instead to give room for the photo and captions without scrolling. I edited it in the Source button code from 1200 to 500.

RE: Bulk uploading Graduation (Then) Photos

Thank you for your reply.

Have uploaded all classmate yearbook photos to the appointed yearbook space. Not easy. I wish this could be done as part of the class list upload.

I have also unchecked the “then” photo option to avoid confusion. Classmates may still upload whatever other photos they wish to and label them however they like.

Lots of tweaking needed in many places it seems.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 18_7 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/605.1.15 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/26.5 Mobile/15E148 Safari/604.1 -->

You mean as something you click?

Step 1, upload the mp3 song to your file vault (see right side chain symbol in the CC editor).

Then you need to add some code to play the song.

There are various methods. One is JVideoPlayer described here<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:151.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/151.0 -->

RE: Bulk uploading Graduation (Then) Photos

Well, first off, classmate's graduation photos normally would be uploaded to their "YearBook" photos. "Then" photos are usually uploaded by the classmates themselves.
And unfortunately, as often as this has come up over the years, to my knowledge there is still no "bulk upload" feature or option for member photos. It took over a week for my co-admin and I to scan and upload all the yearbook photos for our class - and it's a relatively small class of 150.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:109.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/115.0 -->

1)When information is posted to What's New, does it just stay there, or go away over time?
2) If a classmate wants to post info on himself and not use his profile page, where should he go to post?
2) Do we need a forum page for these kinds of messages? Would it continue to just scroll over time?
Thanks in advance for your reply!

Rick Thomas
1) I've never paged down on the What's New page any farther than a couple months, but it appears that everything the system has copied to the What's New page stays there as long as whatever it's copied from is still there.
2)If a classmate wants to post something but doesn't want to post in their own profile, it would appear that he/she could post directly on the What's New page, but... since anything there is a simply copy of something somewhere else, when doing that the system would actually create a comment in that member's profile.

To address both your #2 questions, there are two pages (Message Forum, and User Forum) which are no longer provided on new sites, but Class Creator can (and will if asked) add those pages to your site.
The Message Forum is often used as a community bulletin board, with personal posts or general interest info entered there.
The User Forum page is much like the Help Forum here where a subject can be created and others can choose to follow that thread and post under that title.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->

RE: All You Need To Know But Are Too Shy Too Ask

Hi Rick,

I have a few active sites and worked with the Class Creator team once upon a time. 8)

FYI: The Fenger High School, Chicago, IL website is no longer active. Yet I'm sure Class Creator's Jessica, or site admins: Jack V., Scott M., and Rick T., will be along to share their hints and tips on your questions.

My response is:
1) When information is posted to What's New, does it just stay there, or go away over time?
- I have not used this page. When Jessica reads this, I hope she corrects me if my take on it is wrong.
If I wish someone a Happy Birthday on their profile, it appears on What's New. Any comment made on a classmate's profile appears.

2) If a classmate wants to post info on himself and not use his profile page, where should he go to post?
2) Do we need a forum page for these kinds of messages? Would it continue to just scroll over time?
- I would suggest the Message Forum (URL ends: class_forums). It is a continuous thread. Try it out.

- You may have a Class Forums page (URL ends: class_forums), messages by topics, yet to my knowledge, it is no longer supported. We posted a topic from our 1970 yearbook every Tuesday for 13 weeks with 2 responses. It did not work for MCHS 1970, or when TAPCONNECTS (formerly The Administrators Place) set it up.
(TAPCONNECTS once held weekly website chats on Class Creator 2011-2016, with 20 attendees and others waiting to join.)

Though your questions do not appear to be a part of the YouTube channel, Class Creator Help Videos are found HERE.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64; rv:150.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/150.0 -->

RE: Can not find User Forums

Jessica, is it still possible to get User Forum support added to our "Edit Site Pages"? Our initial test users all requested this feature, so we'd like to add it before we go live in a month.

Thanks!<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; rv:130.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/130.0 -->

RE: "Email the Class" function is Not Working

Administrators can also go to "Email the Class" and look at the counter indicating the number of emails 'sent to' and those 'read by' those that opened the notification

Problem is "Email the Class" is not working. The fact that it is not working is creating a "huge problem" for administrators.

RE: "Email the Class" function is Not Working
I am having the problem.
Two messages I sent the class never reached anyone. Upper Darby High School class of 1966
While is does seem likely that the new mail server is still a work in progress as the symptoms appear to change, you can check to see how many emails are sent the day you do an Email The Class. Go to Statistics, page down to click on Notify Me Statistics, and then page down to see the Sent/Read counts.
You'll see how many (total) emails were sent out today, although you many need to wait a while if all the emails being sent today are backed up due to a large volume.
You can also see how many of those sent were read - although that number is not totally accurate since it counts every time classmates display one of those emails sent today.
Unfortunately, while you can see the the number of emails the system thinks it sent each day, and a hint about how many classmates have read the email sent to them, it can't tell you how many were actually received since there have been problems sending to multiple mail domains.<!-- ua:Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/109.0.0.0 Safari/537.36 -->
