Class Creator displays uploaded picture files. Why do you only display the link to uploaded pdf files? If the file is small, e.g. one page, it should be displayed as well. I can understand large, multiple-page files only being linked to, but a single page pdf should be treated as a single picture is treated. I know I can convert the pdf to a jpg and upload it as a picture, which I've done, but then links on the pdf file are not clickable.

While our CMS tool does not natively handle PDF documents this way, you can certainly use other tools online to accomplish this. However, I am not certain that you will be able to embed the pdf and keep links that are on the pdf functional. I just tested this via my personal test site using your pdf and it seemed to work (no links) to post the pdf to the page. I used the embed code that I found on this site: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/291813/recommended-way-to-embed-pdf-in-html to embed the pdf to the page and it worked, although there were no working links.

Since my goal is to have working links on the document, which they do on my pdf, I don't see a need to use code to embed the pdf if the links do not work. Converting the pdf to a jpg and uploading the jpg seems like my best option. But I still would like Class Creator to investigate the possibility of allowing a single-page pdf to be embedded into a page in order to keep links functional.

What program are you using to create the PDF? Does that program have a way to generate embed code?

Word creates a .docx file, then in Word, I just save the .docx file as a pdf file. It doesn't give me the option of creating the pdf with embedded code. Would this solve my problem if I could create the pdf with a 3rd-party program which could generate embedded code?

I am wondering if there is such a tool using a version of Adobe Acrobat - though I honestly do not know. I'm not sure that an online PDF generator will work.

Well, I know the links work in the pdf file created from Word. That's why Class Creator needs to just accept that single-page, Word-created pdf file for display on my site! A third-party program should not be needed for this very simple request!

EDIT - updated since sometimes prior was not consistent. There is a workable solution so far on Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera. And on Android. Can't test Safari or iPhone. This is the code and here's a demo on CC using that code LINK Clickable links and all. This is the code I used for that demo
Replace pdf with any pdf you want.

Thank you for your reply, Jack Vermeulen. Yes, I want CC to convert the PDF to a format that is displayed since browsers are responsible for displaying PDF contents? I am not a programmer so I'll have to study this and see if I can make it work for me. I'm not sure it's worth the effort to just have two links functional on my pdf file since the file will be sent to all classmates via email anyway before they join the website. But I'd like to make it work, just because!

I'm all for 'just because'. I've always sort of wondered about a PDF solution that I can rely on. Haven't tested on an Android or iPad yet, but that would make it a super nice way to display PDF files. I'll see if I can remember to test and update this topic. I hope the code example works for you since I think this would be # 1001 on the list of "things to do".

Yes...[i]please[i] test and update the topic, Jack, if you can find a few extra minutes to work this up its way on your 'to-do' list!

Almost 7 years flies. Anyway code updated a bit since browsers have changed and google did not act consistently in an iframe. So changed to object and that appears to work better. See post above for revised code.

Google stuff is weird. Sometimes it works and sometimes it does not. The simple iframe is the most reliable, except for mobile one has to download to see them. This Page has all four ways of displaying. Sometimes ALL of them work and sometimes they do not. The iframe so far always displays. More research needed iframe code is
