Hi Is it possible to know what data has been changed or added when someone updates a profile? I have an offline spreadsheet that we use to gather some of the data that we might want to use at our reunion and in our searching for people (# of kids, addresses of where people are, and especially changes in email, etc) and it would make life a lot easier if the information changed were highlighted (color red) once it has been made so that a brief glimpse at the profile would pinpoint the changes. Then it would be great if we could hit a button and make it black again so if they update again at a later time, it would show up red. Is that possible or even useful to others? Jody

![]() It would be very difficult to track every single word. Even if we did, what you'd wind up with is yellow highlighting all over the place even if a Classmate was just making several basic text revisions. What we are going to do though is track content blocks. So for instance if a Classmate updates her Married Name, that whole field will show as being updated. If a Classmate updates his or her Comments section, that whole field will show as being updated. Updates will ONLY show if you're coming into the Profile from a Profile Update email link you've received or if you click in from the Profile Updates right hand module on the home page. If you just click the main Classmate Profiles navigational link all Profile content will continue to show in black and look just like it does now. That's the good news. The bad news is none of this will happen until after completion of a major ongoing system restructure that involves new designs, flyout and dropdown menu abilities, ability to rename all links including default links, ability to sort all links, ability to create unlimited site pages and more. It's a major undertaking that will take a couple more months to complete so most significant requested updates are in the queue for after that. So this is upcoming, but definitely won't make the live system until the first part of 2011.

I'm 'liking' many of those new features, Brad. And the solution of highlighting only blocks of copy to indicate it contains updated information is an elegant one. Just can't wait to see it all -- but am willing to do so, of course.

That sounds great also. We maintain a seperate database of information also. This helps up use queries to pull specific information needed for fundraising or reporting etc
