I'm wanting to schedule a Chat Night, and am hoping that someone has ideas on conversation starters. I would hate to have chat night schedule and then go into it without a starter subject. Anyone have any experience, or ideas? Thanks,

I know it sounds like a silly question. I just thought someone might have a good subject starter. Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Good luck with that. Most I ever had was 3 people, they forget! They are shy they dont come unless they see others there, no one wants to be first... Im ending the monthly chats as I dont want to sit here and stare at it for an hour - alone -- they dont live on the computer like I do

That's exactly what I am concerned about. Thanks for your input. I may just hold off for a while longer. I did put up a Poll to see if anyone was interested, only a few have responded to it. Maybe IM will work better.

Hi Ava, I have chat sessions every Thursday evening at 8:00 and have it displayed by scrolling marquee on my homepage. I have about 8 regulars and we get an occasional curious soul that comes in for a minute or two. Most of my regulars are a bit shy, so this is away for them to be "outgoing". We just get on and talk - no conversation starters because we don't need them. We talk about everything from school days to recipes to our problems to deer hunting to our problems to our kids. As your reunion nears we all talked about that and we probably had close to 15 in there the week of the reunion. Now that the reunion is past us the regular 8 is usually in there and that is fine with me. This is a no-stress chat session. Come as you are. Have fun with it but don't worry about it. People are busy these days and will not always have time to chat. I'll end this by repeating what one of my regulars told me a few weeks ago when he first logged into the chat room, "These chat sessions are like going to a therapist but not having to pay. This is the one thing I look forward to during the week because it releaves my stress!". What is said in the chat room stays in the chat room.

Hi Dawn, I've seen your scolling marquee and planned to use something similiar. You've given me a little hope. Thanks Dawn.
