Does anyone have ideas on how to incorporate a classmate who unashamedly claims to be completely computer illiterate and does not even own a computer?

We want to create profile for him - but then perhaps a dummy e-mail address and login?

Or what about asking a geographically close-by classmate to receive e-mails on his behalf and pop them in his mailbox when passing by?

Does having the same e-mail address for two different classmates present any technical difficulties?

No, Classmates can have the same email address as long as they have different passwords. No problem at all.

Somebody can join the site on this person's behalf, sure, or what you might consider is clicking your Manage Classmates link, then clicking the Enter/Edit Classmates button, and selecting the second radio button at the top of the page to display Classmate Profile info entered by Admins even if the Classmate has not joined the site. This way you can create the Profile yourself without actually having to have somebody join the site on behalf of the Classmate.

Brad:
As an admin with classmates who are vehemently opposed to internet access, I would tread this lightly. If I had a written letter from the person I could reference authorizing me to create the profile, I would be comfortable with it.

Most of our classmates think this is wonderful, but there are still people out there that have a great fear of the Internet and this type of usage of it. I would never want to create a profile without written permission from the classmate.

We just sent out flyers to classmates with no internet access and/or don't want to be on the internet. We enclosed a profile information sheet...on that sheet we asked permission to put their information on the website by them checking yes or no and then dating & signing the form.
My Missing classmates show on the web page, if they have no mailing and/or email address. I don't put an phoney email address on anyone's profile who doesn't have one, every time you send out a mass email to the class..it will bounce. I just put in a phoney address so they would come off the missing classmate list. I still give these persons access to their profiles in case they change their minds and would like to create a password.
We have a multi-year site..This was the best way I could come up with to deal with classmates who are not missing and don't want to be on the website.
