Feel free to check out the music playlist I have assembled for my class website's "In Memory" section. My website is set up to use a different theme-related playlist for each section of the website.

It sounds like you are using the DVD at your reunion (not posting it on the website or youtube.) Is that right? We had two DVDs (actually slideshows made with Windows movie Maker)--one was an "In memory". The other was Memory Lane which showed pictures mostly of our town and then pictures of high school snapshots including senior pictures scanned from our yearbook.(We have a huge class, so we only selected about 20-30 of the early registrants for the reunion.) For "In memory", I just used some music in the "Sample music Files" which I assumed is copyright-free, but I'm not totally sure. For the "Memory Lane" show I used several songs suggested by classmates (from 70's)but took those off when I posted it to Facebook because of possible copyright issues. If you want to talk more about, please email me. Thanks and good luck!

You can download the music from the playlist and use on a DVD or reload on your website. A lot of thought and time went into assembling the playlist and it certainly is deserving of wider distribution than just on my class website if it is useful to others.

We no longer have music on our site, but after viewing some of yours I'd love to have more information on what software you used. Seems to working well. Big compliments to you on your playlists full of great music by theme. Thanks for posting! Send info when you have time. Busy times prior to reunions! Thanks again, Donna

Karen Hoerauf wrote: I looking for appropriate music to play during a DVD of those who have passed. I would appreciate suggestions. My hubby is a retired Funeral Director/Embalmer: These are his suggestions: How Great Thou Art, On Eagles Wings, this is more secular, Wind Beneath My Wing. another secular, Abide With Me, Memories from the play 'Cats', Nearer My God to Thee. You would need to pay royalities for these songs. There are so many more he can't remember them all without having the list. There are places that make these DVD's, who have already paid the royalities to use thee songs. You have to be careful about using the music. The funeral home had to pay royalities every year just to play the music in their funeral home. I hope this helps.

that is indeed a great playlist, which our class of 1965 would also like to use. However, I can't figure out how to download the files... I think I get how to take it from there. thanks

You need either the direct link to where they are stored OR get/buy a program that does this (by monitoring the data stream)

Michael, I viewed your music playlist and liked the layout much better than what I am currently using, which is Hypster. I also took quite some time selecting the music that I am using on my homepage. The only issue I have is the titles are in very small print and even though I have added a note on how to stop the music if the classmates desire to, it is difficult to see the vertical lines to click on. Appreciate if you could share some info on what app you used, etc. Thank you. Judy Blackwell '61 http://www.classcreator.com/Highland-Park-MI-1959-1963/

That's the CC embedded player. Go to the left side link called "Playlist Generator". There's one issue though. The Hypster music all comes from YouTube. The CC player requires you to either upload your music to your file vault (legally the music can't be any copyrighted music - see topic started a few days ago in this forum) or provide a Link to the music - YouTube won't work. Don't know why Hypster makes the text so tiny. That's the main objection I have too. There are other ways to do this too - a lot more complicated. Here's one I picked at random LINK

I spoke too soon. That site I gave LINK is actually pretty easy to use AND you get 5GB of FREE SPACE to store your music. You can use URL links or upload from your system (you can do a batch upload so in one step get them all loaded). Player looks just like shown in link but you can make it smaller, remove some options, turn autostart on/off etc. It's a tad hard to find some of the options since they are in Advanced. That flexibility is what threw me off at first, but it really is no harder than CC and offers a lot for free. AND it plays on handheld devices (5GB is a lot of songs - for example we use 1.2GB for 280 songs.)

Michael, Do you still have the In Memory slideshow with music and may I view it? I created one on my computer, but I used music that is copyrighted so I can't used it on YouTube or the website. Thank you for any help you can give me. Frances
