We have over 600 pictures of our 50th reunion last weekend.

1> how do I post these? Is the best way to use the Gallery?

2> Do I have to upload each one individually?

3> Can you write a narrative of each picture when you post on the Gallery?

4> how can I determine if I have enuf Memory for all the new 600 + what I now carry on the site?

Thanks for you help! N

Nancee,

Yes, the Photo Gallery is the best way. You can upload multiple images at once. You can caption each photo if you want.
File Vault Space Used:    79.38 MB of available 2000 MB (at 3.97% capacity)
You should have enough space. (the above number is visible from the Gallery Creator and each of the File Vaults)

Nancee,

We, too, had close to 900 pics from our 50th in July. I chose to split them up and I used Kizoa to create slideshows. Different ones for each of our events we had. I put them on the website over a period of time so that people wouldn't get bored all at once. I had a max of about 70 pics per slideshow.

Excellent suggestion Barbara! Separating photos by event simply makes sense.

We had almost 400 photos professional photos taken at our reunion last October. I divided them into groups - Arriving, Meet the General, Couples, Slow Dancing, etc., and attached a music video to each one. Take a look on my website at 50-Year Reunion Professional Photos.

We had our 50th reunion this past weekend. It would never have been the success it was without Classcreator. So many great comments about the site. Thanks for all you have done for all the classes.

One question - one of our classmates added 71 photos to the photos gallery but put them in the wrong gallery. Is there a way with out deleting them and starting over that he can move them to the correct 50th Reunion Gallery?

Thanks again for such a great site for all of us.

Go into Photo Gallery Editor of the page you're initially working with
Options: PHOTOS
Edits for XXXXXXX gallery: Click CHANGE PHOTO LOCATIONS - Select one or more photos in this gallery and move them into a different gallery
Mark the Photo you want to Change by checking off the CHANGE
Then where it says: You can also move any selected photos below to a different gallery if necessary: You can select by dropdown menu what gallery you want your photos to be moved into

Thanks Scott. I went completely blank when I was asked the questions. Glad someone is on the ball!

1. How many words are you allowed in the Gallery Caption Box?

2. Besides pictures, we have folks who have written stories about each of our 12 events. These should go with the Reunion photos on the Gallery. Can you upload a text document in the same space and way you would a picture?

Thanks for all your comments! N

I don't believe a text document can be uploaded to the gallery as you would a picture. An approach that achieves the same result is to convert the document such as one in Word to a jpg file. A site I use for most of my conversion needs is Zamzar.

You can also insert a document, or anything, into a Publisher file and then save that as a jpg.

The text area below a photo holds a lot of text. I'd say at least 4096 characters worth but probably more. The main issue is you can't easily format it.

Technically you can upload a text file and display it but not as part of the gallery comment area.

Given that and the ability to add a preface page to galleries, there are a few choices depending on how you want to display the content. You can make it a "link" to the text file that a person clicks. Or you can put the "text" file inside an iframe. But for the last you might as well just paste the content inside the page.

The main page of a gallery has an "edit" page where you can give an overall description of ALL the sub-galleries within the main page.

Then each sub-gallery also has an edit page. You can also put a description or anything else you like there too. This description shows up when you click the gallery.

IOW, the gallery pages can do much more than just display uploaded images. You can also just use it to create full html content with ANY other images too, not just gallery images. For that matter, there don't even have to have any "gallery" images at all.

Just click "Edit" on any gallery, then type some text, save and look at the gallery to experience the huge flexibility here.
