I have a question. I set up my donate button and to test it out I donated $10.00 to my site. Everything worked fine. BUT when I went back to my site, clicked on edit site pages & hen homepage, & then donate button, I couldn't find hide nor hair of the donation. Then I went back to the homepage and looked for something that could resemble finding info on the donate button under the admin. list on the left. Not successful.
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong in order to find my donation.

The donation is in your PayPal account. Log In to PayPal and you will see the donation.

(I'm assuming you meant where the money went?)

I go into Edit Site Pages, Edit Homepage, Manage Donations and manually list the names of the folks who donate in the text box there. I divided them up by years....Donations for 2010....Donations for 2011...

The names of donators should come to you in an email from Paypal.
