I approved an announcement from Bruno approx 18 hours ago and it has not yet appeared on our home page.

There is only one Announcement on your site. It was entered by you, it is active, and it is displaying properly. My guess here is Bruno entered an Announcement, you approved it, and then Bruno went in and deleted it. The poster of the Announcement has the power to remove his or her Announcmenet at any time.
