I want to place a link on one page that will take classmates direct to a heading halfway down on another page.

I read some of the posts back in 2012 on this but can't make them work on our site. I'm using Google Chrome browser.

Code used to link to elsewhere on the page-
<a href="#1">your link text here</a> <a href="#2">your link text here</a> etc.

Then, at the locations to where you want the links to jump-
<a name="1"></a> <a name="2"></a> etc.

"NAME" gives the anchor a name. Other links target the anchor using that name. This allows you to link to specific places within the page. The "NAME" value must match the "HREF" value.

I just reread your post. You want to link to ANOTHER
page. To do that-
<a href="anotherpage.htm#1">your link text here</a>
The NAME anchor then goes in anotherpage.htm.
