Is there a way to alert classmates who are already on the site, to let them know some else has signed on, so that they can go to the Live Chat ? The only way we know is if we go back to the Home Page and see if someone else is on, but have no way of letting that person know to go to Live Chat ? That's not a very good way of explaining my question...

I'm very glad you asked this because I have 2 answers for you, and there's no doubt many others with this same question:

1) Yes, just click your Preferences link and enable Instant Messaging. Do that and you'll open up a whole new world of instant communication.

2) This Fall we'll be changing the Profile Subscriptions page to a new page called Notify Me with more notification options. All optional of course for those who want to use them, but one of them will be the ability to be sent an email when 2 or more people are in the Live Chat room.

Do #1 for now though and you'll have the solution you're seeking.
