I saw the thread on putting a 'purpose statement' at the top of the User Forums to avoid problems before they start.

![]() Can you copy the link to the thread you're referring to?

![]() You are using the original Message Forums (as opposed to the newer User Forums). Those forums are set up to always display the most recent 25 messages. My only issue with having forum rules, etc. at the top of the those forums is it would have to be at the top of the page at all times. I think that would pretty quickly get annoying for the people actually trying to use the forums, with that content always affied to the top of the page pushing the content they are there to read further down on the page. As an alternative, how about sending out a class-wide email with your forum rules and regulations? Or you could also create a policies page, or "how to use this site" page that I've seen a lot of people here do, where you've got this and any other policy or instructional information posted.

hi, Is it possible to display a pop up window with a purpose statement or customized message when someone select the Forum link? This would be very helpful. Please advise. Thanks

![]() It is not currently possible to spawn the popup from clicking a left navigation link itself, no. Many new things are coming though with the integration of what we're now called "Class Creator 3.0", which will be launching in pieces starting now through summer.
