I am using someones laptop and the pictures on the site don't show up. Even the photos that are on the class creator top of the page aren't showing up. There are red X's. The home page announcements are lower on the homepage. Any ideas of what the problem would be?

Hi Ann -- It might be that person doesn't have the latest version of Flash installed on that laptop. Some of the templates use Flash. And the Galleries are all done in flash. Same with the IM (Members on line) and Live Chat. The home page announcements moving down might be due to the smaller screen resolution setting on the laptop. Try using CTRL-minus key to see if the content moves up when the browser contents is made smaller. The red-x might be caused by browser settings that "never reload" a website. Lot of "maybe" and "might" in those comments. Kyle can probably get right in here and give you the "for sure" reasons.

Internet Explorer is the browser that shows the RED X characters if the graphic is missing. On Internet Explorer, there is also an option to not display graphics. It is found on Tools/ Internet Options/ Advanced/ Multimedia/ Show Pictures If the "Show Pictures" option is unchecked, you will get the dispaya you are describing.

![]() Just wondering if you are at an office with a firewall or at home with a personal firewall. Might be an issue with those settings? (stab in the dark). If you have updated to the latest flash player, all "should" be fine. Not sure what else to recommend. Clear your cache and cookies and reboot if you have not done that lately.

I cleared the cookies and cache and still nothing. Some photos show up and some don't. It's really odd. When I go to the videos added it says that the adobe reader needs updated. But I have done that. And the photos loaded in Picasa are showing up if I go right to the site but not showing up if I have the code loaded on the site so they can go directly to the file. Everything on the homepage shows up except the pictures at the top of the design. JFK picture is there an everything below but not the banner at the top.

I used to have a similar problem on my older computer running XP with Internet Explorer giving me those red x's and claiming I didn't have the latest Flash, even though I kept updating it. Under FireFox it was fine. Never did solve it; gave up using IE with our website on that computer.

What Version of IE? The "high contrast" setting for your desktop may also cause this sort of symptom (been a while, but I believe that's what it does - easy to check).
