We are having our 1st Multi Year Reunion in October. Is the New Planner going to launch soon or will it be around Spring or Summer and hopefully not around Fall? Just wondering how the new planner is different from the Reunion Planner , any tip or enlightenment will be most appreciated?
Thanks.
Thelma

It's completely different. Totally redone based on so many comments received here. New Event Planner includes new PayPal store as a result of so many complaints about the 4.9% processing fee. Seamless integration with PayPal is very nice. New Even Planner should be live in March. While you can plan a reunion right now using the current Reunion Planner, if you're about to start reunion planning I'd definitely wait for the new Event Planner it's vastly improved.

We are in the process right now reading contractual language & negotiating which casino hotel in Vegas will be best/ appropriate for our group. The March launch is great timing. Thanks Brad ! Can't wait to see the Event Planner.

So if I understand this correctly - we are in the middle of planning our 50th Reunion for September 2014, will we be able to continue using the current event planner and don't have to switch to the new planner? Don't want to have to change horses in the middle of the stream, so to speak. Thanks!

Will the "name tags" section be changed at all? For example, our logo appears faded and not the bright color that shows up in other areas of the site. Thanks.

We have been advertising our March 1 roll out for Ticket Sales for an August 16 event for the past month, and used your existing Reunion Planner to design our purchase package off-line last week. At midnight last night we tried to activate the Reunion Planner. It is not working correctly; two people tried to purchase tickets and get an error message saying we need to register first. (The way we thought we designed it, the act of purchasing the ticket IS the registration act.) People across the country are waking up and going to our site to buy tickets this morning. Should we just postpone ticket sales to later in March, then start over with your new Reunion Planner?

We pulled the plug this morning on our existing Event Planner, which is something we could easily do since our 50 year reunion is not until August 16. We look forward with great anticipation to the roll out of the vastly improved Event Planner in March!

Correct. Anyone on the current planner will finish out their reunion on that planner. Everything with the current planner is working just fine and will continue to work.

No. However, we can investigate this issue separately. Stephen Cutler wrote:

Ok -- I think that's the best idea. Again the current Planner is working fine, an the issue reported could have been identified and solved. Nonetheless the new Event Planner is far better for a whole variety of reasons.

I should probably state that the new Event Planner is exactly that -- new. There's always going to be some issues at launch regardless of the amount of testing we've done in our testing environment (which has been extensive). Anything reported to us we'll obviously fix right away. I expect all in all though that this new Event Planner launch will be pretty smooth. Stay tuned.

Thanks Brad. We are pretty far into the plans and the use of the current planner. It's hard to teach an old dog new tricks - and with everything we're working on, I just couldn't bear to have to learn something new!

Hi, any update on when the new Event Planner will be rolled and live for our use? I've got a 40th Reunion coming up this summer that I want to use the new tool for. Please advise, thanks!

Last I heard was March 14th. I haven't heard any different. Maybe tomorrow, maybe over the weekend. There will be an email sent to everyone when it is ready. The old Reunion Planner will still work and you will be able to create a reunion until the new Event Planner is active. After that, you can continue to use your active Reunion Planner, but not able to create a new Reunion Planner event.

Thanks Kyle. I'll look for it over the weekend. I'm kind of holding off until the new EP goes on line. Hopefully soon. Thanks

Not wanting to derail how great the new Event Planner is - we have started signing up for our 1st multi-year reunion in October but anticipating to avail of the new one. Can't we just transfer our attendees list to the new one? Is that considered creating a new planner event ? That's about all we did. Please clarify? Thanks.

Unfortunately, if you have an existing Reunion Planner started, there is not a way to import that RP to the new Event Planner. The New Event Planner is 100% rewritten from the ground up and separate from the current Reunion Planner. You will be able to complete your current events in the Reunion Planner. Once you close out that Reunion Planner, your future events will be opened in the new Event Planner. If you desire to use the new system, your only option will be to close your existing Reunion Planner and then set up the event again via the new EP, and then manually enter any data that already existed in the event.

Okay that's good to know. When the new EP comes live, we'll make that decision. What we have are the dates for the 3 events and attendees list. We're still in negotiations with 3 possible venues; so if we decide to set up the event again, I don't think it will be too of a problem.
Thank you Scott.

Finalizing a few issues on new Event Planner now. If all goes well we're hoping to put up the beta next week.

How do you become a beta tester?

Reply
Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 11:56 PM - Response #20

The current (tried and true) Reunion Planner will remain available for anyone wishing to use it. The new Event Planner will be labeled "Event Planner beta" on the navigation. Hooks to reports and nametags are yet to be made. Plus with anything new there could be some issues people may need to report to us. By and large, if you're having a reunion and need immediate reports or nametags, you'll want to use the current Reunion Planner. If you're having a summer or fall reunion I recommend the new Event Planner. By the time most reunions happen (fall) the new Event Planner will be more evolved.

I guess I have to bribe with goodies again!!!WinkWink

I can use the old one..but I would like to learn the new one so I can pull my hair out teaching the Event Planning Committee and Treasurer how to use it for the Meet N Greet in May. This way they can practice and get use to using it before the biggie reunion next year.

I will wait patientlyExclamation Maybe! Shocked

Don't think that's a good idea...that's April Fools Day... Twisted EvilTwisted EvilLaughingLaughing
Brad said in his email...on the 18th...next wk...the sooner the better..then we can work out the kinks. There will be no reports or name tag capabilities tho.

Hoping it'll be out by March 25 ...
Should I delete Reunion Planner first, then start on the Event Planner?
Or start the EP first and then cancel the RP ? I'm ok which ever will work. I hope it's soon.
Thanks.Question

Oy, I thought we were going to have live, working and final version of the new Event Planner module this week. Now it looks like it will be beta version sometime later on this week. I think I'm just going to go with the current Reunion Planner as I don't want to delay implementation for our June 40th Reunion.

It is in beta because we will be waiting on a few more things, such as the reports, to be added. With any new program, the launch may reveal wrinkles that need to be ironed out as well. But I can say - I have seen the future, and it is good. Smile

I'd love to start playing with the new Events Planner as soon as possible too. We have June 14th reunion. Do you think reports will follow in 30 to 45 days?

Following on Scott, I too would love to read some projection of when "reports" will be available for the new Events Planner. And is there any doubt that the nametag module for the new Planner will be ready by at least a week prior to our August 16 reunion dinner?

I cannot give any estimates on the reports or the nametag generator and when those will be added. We want to "work out any issues" with the new Event Planner first, and then look to the extras.

We waited 6 days for PayPal to get us a response....which finally came in today. Now that we have it we can proceed with wrapping up the new beta Event Planner. Should be available in a few days here...

Thanks Brad. It's great to know it's only a matter of days not weeks or months. We signed a contract to secure the days we wanted and our 1st deposit is due April 1. We'll manage. Thanks again.

May - I would suggest using the Current Reunion Planner so that you can get going on your event. The current system works great. The New Event planner will be released in Beta format, but is not ready yet and even when it is released it will be missing some functionality that will be finished and released soon thereafter. But for your purposes, I would urge you to get your event planned with the current setup.

Thanks, Scott. Question - does our account needs to be verified first before I can activate our Reunion Planner for payment?

Reply
Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at 8:41 PM - Response #44

No, you can activate the reunion, and people can pay for their tickets, but until your account is verified, you cannot get the money through a direct deposit transfer. As soon as the local bank account is verified, you can then request direct deposits to your local bank account.
