We want to give a scholarship. Does anyone do this and what criteria do you use?

We're giving 2-4 book scholarships. We're working with the scholarship department at the school (or try guidance if there isn't a scholarship department), so they can help come up with names. They can use their computers to figure out this stuff. We're looking at one for "most improved", "technical/trade school", "non-college business type school" and a "college student who lives at home".

We gave one 10 years ago with the help of a teacher who is the son of one of our class. We used donations. We've done donations this time and have amounts from $10 to $250.
