School Photo Cropping to Adj Position

I added a new school photo on our homepage and noticed that it was cutoff the bottom more than I wanted. So, I cropped the top of the photo thinking it would move the photo up. No luck. It actually showed less of the bottom than before. I have tried additional cropping on the sides, and that seems to help some, but still not enough. I don't want to crop anymore on the sides because we will loose details we want.
Can someone tell me how the program works that fits the photo into the school photo box so I can crop or size our photo to position it precisely as we want it.
Thank you

We take your original uploaded photo: http://www.classcreator.com/003/000001526/2_0.jpg?c=9
and resize it (depending on the design template you've selected, in this case to a width of 196 pixels):

then place it as the background-image behind a flash object to make the fit and finish.

To get more of the bottom in, you would need to make the original image more of a square, so you'd chop off more of the sides.

Hi Eric,
I thought your answer about squaring up the photo might be what I needed to do based on my trial and error efforts. I just thought there might be another way.
Thanks so much for your help Smile.
