Our committee has decided to send obit notices to "everyone". However, we do get a lot of complaints about this. We lost a bunch of people to this policy. We looking forward to getting another way to send the notices. I hope this finds it way to the top.

I can't believe that they would complain about this. I don't send the obit itself; however, I send a mass email telling the class that :John Smith's father passed away and there is more info on the site.

I was not surprised. I know people get a little funny about this subject. I personally think it is a service that we can do for our Alumni that they would not otherwise see. I know though that for everyone that has complained there are two that did not complain but do not like it. I think that when I can send two emails one for annoucements and one for obits that they will be only half or 3/4 that want to see the obits. IMHO
