It would be nice to have a way to invite a guest to the site with automation I recently discovered that the link provided in the email box on the home page does not take a guest where they need to be in order for them to sign in.

That invite box is going to take people right to your home page. Many sites like to post detailed signup instructions on their home pages, so our decision was to point that box there. It's the same process for guests as it is for Classmates though. Providing you have selected "Show as Guest Member" when you added the guest's name, they would go right to the same Profiles page to sign up that your Classmates go to. The only difference is they are listed at the bottom of the page in the "guest list" as opposed to being intermixed along with the rest of your Classmates' names.

When inviting guests to join your site, you may want to just email them separately with exact signup instructions rather than use that automated invite. The automated invite was initially intended only for Classmates of course, and a guest may have more difficulty realizing that their name is below the Class List, and not intermixed with it.
