One of my classmates sent me photos in an email but they are in TIF format and I am unable to upload them. I've never had a problem with photos in JPEG. This really has me stymied, so any help is appreciated.

You can upload TIF images to the system. Our system is just going to resize them and recompress them as JPG images though.

One of the problems you might run into with TIF images is they are often very lage photos somebody has taken with a modern digital camera, or supersied image scans that somebody has created with a scanner. In either scenario, the large file size may cause your system, or ours, to time out while uploading.

Any easy way to get around this is to simply convert the image to a JPG before uploading:

1) Download Irfanview from www.irfanview.com. It's free.
2) Open the TIF and resize it to 1,000 pixels wide
3) Save as JPG
4) Upload the new JPG to your site
