All,

For those of you who have set a page (or more) to Password Protected, what do you think are the benefits to doing so? Also, which pages did you decide to protect; do they contain a specific type of information?

I am just wondering whether some of our pages should be protected.

If I decide to protect a page, does the classmate just have to use their site log on information to access those pages; and do they have to register their profile before being able to access those pages?

Thanks for the help, and sorry about all the questions!

Vicki

Hi Vicki,

The benefits to password protecting pages is to get people to update their profiles in order for them to view them and to participate on the message forum. So yes, they have to join in order to see all the cool pages. I only have a couple of pages that are not. When I send my class an email, I stipulate that the majority of the site is password protected for privacy. I think they appreciate that.

I'm finding that curiosity gets the best of people when they see how many others have updated their profiles.
