Favicon Problem

When I try to upload I always get the message " Oops … something went wrong during file upload:Error uploading icon!" I have tried both .png and .jpg in sizes ranging from 16 x16 pixels to 64 x 64. Does anyone have any idea what I'm doing wrong?
