I was advised by one one of my classmates that Birthday notifications have changed. She used to get an e-mail, click and it took her to the classmates profile. Now she clicks and it takes her to the homepage. Could it be that she is not permanently logged in? Or did something change? Is so, what can I do to correct this? Jim

I tested here, and it did exactly what it's always done. Clicking on the name in the birthday notify email (which is a link) took me to the log in page as it should since profiles are restricted. Logging in then took me to that person's profile.

It may be that she uses (or used to use) "Keep Me Logged In", and in theory that should have automatically logged her in and gone directly to the birthday member's profile. I did not test that.
