I see a "paste from word" but it is not working for me...are there instructions about all of the icons in edit page mode?
In my case I am using firefox from a mac. Is that my problem?

Barbara:

In the FAQ we cover this under Questions About Maintaining Your Site:

Question 2 specifically.

I have been able to copy-and-paste from Word to Notepad and remove the code that way. You should try that first before re-typing anything you have already created. First cut-and-paste from word to TextEdit for Mac and then paste that into the editor.

the "Paste From Word" icon allows you to paste text from a word document. Microsoft Word makes hideous HTML code, so the editor attempts to "clean it" when you use this.

Unfortunately it doesn't always work very well.

Rhonda makes one worthy suggestion, but you might also be able to do "Paste as plain text" to paste information in from a word document.

One thing you will not be able to do is paste images that are embedded in a word document. Also, if you "paste as plain text", you'll lose any formatting in the word document, like indenting, bullets, tables, etc.

Rick is right. You can paste as plain text as well.
