I have noticed that with the insert horizontal line button I can no longer change the color of the line inserted. I use to be able to do this with the text color button. What happened?
They are all just grey now.

The last editor may have done that and apparently the new upgraded editor doesn't. But you can still change the color of any HR by just adding the color value to the code. For instance a default gray horizontal rule looks like this:

If I want to make it purple I'd just to this:
