Significance of lighter color on class list

I have noticed when viewing the classmates list that some of the names are in a lighter color, but I have not figured out what that means. Can someone tell me?

It is probably your browser's way of telling you that you have clicked on that link before. Try clicking on one of the darker links. Then refresh the page and see if that link became one of the lighter colored links.

Ah, Yes. I should have figured that out, but I kept trying to decide what they had in common. It was me!
