Can anyone recommend a site for converting a photo to a cartoon photo? . . . preferably a free software download.

GIMP has tools that can accomplish that. Tools, Paint tools, neon. Takes some experimenting depending on what you are after. Get it HERE Not the easiest to use, but then again, it's not something I use a lot. Edit: I just updated (since I had the link anyway) to latest version and they have moved things around. Looks in Filters instead.

@Tom - I had tried cartoonize but couldn't get it to work - kept getting a message about an illegal name - saying the image name was wrong ????? okay, so I gave it another try and it worked with resizing the pic. : )

What a fun idea. If you run across anything, would you pass it along? Ken

Be aware that this addon forces a new searchbar and tools on you even if you don't want it (I unchecked all the boxes, except the last one). It absolutely hate those kind of programs. Too bad since the output looks nice.

If you go directly to the link above you do not have to install the add on toolbar? At least I do not think so.

I did not check install checkboxes (unchecked them from default) and it did anyway. Directly from that link.

I checked out mywebface and reviews - it looks like a good site for cartooning but the reviews were varied on malware, viruses, etc. so not sure I want to take that chance. There are McAfee and Norton security logos on the site but my Norton warned me the site (the one it downloads from) could be harmful when I attempted a download. So, I played it safe and didn't continue.

Yes, no need to apologize. I was just giving caution. I tried it out and then disabled the addon. It does work nice.
