Our class just celebrated its 60th Reunion May 16-18. It was a great event with a good turnout. We have one classmate who has never been to a reunion who seems to still have issues about “feeling invisible” in high school. All high schools had their hierarchy of popularity or notoriety. Those levels no longer exist in our class and everyone but this person has gotten over the issue. His posts on the chat board are negative and sometimes factually inacurrate. As the admin I monitor the chat, occasionally correct spelling errors, but have not deleted posts. Is there any way to mute posts to all but the sender?

Our web site has a 'disclaimer' at the bottom of our home page which, among other things, warns users that posting anything which does not contribute to all of us getting (and staying) together is not acceptable. I've seldom needed to use any of the options, but they include (1) a warning, (2) editing, (3) deleting, and (4) banishing repeat offenders. I've only had to use option 4 once. Jim, occasionally admins need to function as the adult in the room. I'd try a gentle warning first, pointing out that we're all grown up now. Sharing and enjoying who we've become since high school is one of our web site's primary goals.

Thanks John. I just find it incredible that there are still people upset by real/perceived slights from 60 years ago. Some people do not attend our reunions because they went to a different junior high school and claim they were dissed by people from the other junior high school. Life is too short to carry this stuff for 60 years.
