Everytime I try to post a small video under post announcements my announcements disappear. Is this no longer allowed?

No, this is still very possible. Be sure you are copying complete code from youtube and embedding that code in the source of the page. If you are still having problems, leave the code there for us to review and let us know here. We can log in and take a look.
