I know how to open a web page in a new browser tab. How do you open a new tab for a link to a pdf in your file vault?

In the Link dialog panel click the tab labeled Target" and set the target to "_blank" to open the link in a new tab.

Can you explain to me in what instance I would use this? I know this sounds like a dumb question, but I am still working on the basics. I have a pdf file with my reunion invitation set up under my tab "50th Reunion" that I went through some steps to do where classmates can click to open my file in the file vault. Is this the same thing? Just trying to learn. Thanks a bunch! Patsy

In NEW WINDOW or NEW TAB, the class website will remain in it's own window/tab. If you don't change the target, the PDF document will replace the contents of the current window/tab and the classmates will have to use the BACK button to return to the website.
