Linking from an announcement to a new page

I want to create a link in an announcement that displays another CC page I create but that is not listed on the Home page.
Creating the link in the announcement is straight forward; creating a page that is invisible but gets displayed when the link in the announcement is selected is what I am confused about.

1. Create the page like any other page.
2. Do not make it active.
3. Then just use the Editor link option for the visible text name or a graphic giving it the Page URL.
