Just recently, my downloads of class data into Excel won't open. Excel freezes, and I have to restart the computer to unfreeze it. Silly me I keep trying with the same results. For the last 12 years, Excel has been telling me that the format isn't right, but if I hit the continue anyway option, it has always just opened. (looking at other forum entries, I see this has been a common issue). Now Excel just freezes. Is there a new problem? Is It me? An obnoxious workaround is to open it in HTML, then copy and paste into Excel. But come on, this is 2025, and the program should be able to do a simple download to an established spreadsheet.

Something has changed. I just downloaded the class list and while Excel doesn't freeze in my case the file won't open.

Not sure what might have happened, but for me it still works as it used to - with the warning - using Excel from Office 2007 under Windows 7 and Office 2021 under Windows 10.
