Is there a way to turn off the message box at the bottom of a profile page so that messages cannot be sent to that classmate?

There is not a way to turn off this feature.

This feature allows classmates to communicate with each other through the system without having to give out their personal email address as all emails are entered into the system and delivered to the classmate from the system.
