The previous editor placed a grid over a selected photo that made getting consistent sizes for all pictures extremely easy. I don't know when that editor was replaced but now there is a Flash based product, which seems like a step in the wrong direction with Flash in such disfavor and being eliminated, with which I need some help.

You are correct. This is a step in the wrong direction. However, we decided it was better to have something available ratherror than nothing, while we investigate options for a more permanent solution. The editor that we had went away with no notice leaving us looking for a quick fix. We found and installed this fairly quickly deciding that while not ideal, was at least viable as a bandaid. .

I do not yet have an eta on a new solution.
