CC:

I am leaving my question in two places on this forum as I am extremely concerned about the safety of this new addition to my home page (since I did not put in on and CC did not notify us of a new addition).
Please look at my homepage at the bottom of the right column and explain what this "Rewind" is and how to get rid of it. I am hoping to hear from you before anyone trys to click on it.

Thank you, Tracey

This is a new module that has been under development by CC. The toggle that is on the Edit Site Pages > Edit Page for Homepage > Right Modules is now working and the module may be turned on or off. It was not supposed to be on initially and that has been corrected.

The module doesn't appear to be worth much as it simply takes you to a web page.

Hi Woody,

Click on the play button (arrow). That does not redirect me to the site, it plays the radio on my site. Hope this helps!

Thank you, you are correct.

My question to CC is "Why"?

Well, I was not involved in the discussion on this however, it is a plus we can choose to use or not use. Why I think it is a plus is because...
1. Many reunion/class/alumni sites choose to add music and/or music history.
2. Many of the same have 'remember when' or 'remember these' pages. (On my alumni site, I call it Memory Lane with music, TV, movie clips, #1 hits and pics of the things we had in days past (dial phones, old toys and so on).

Rewind provides a look back on this date in history covering some of the things many of us now have on our sites.

I did not know this was live today. So I thank you for the post here. I did make it active on the alumni site and will post an announcement to members about it. On Rewind's FB page, they have this: "Rewind is a fast-paced hilarious look at each day's memorable events in popular music, movies and television history. Rewind is chock-full of tidbits that will make you laugh out loud!"

Yes, that about says it!

It can't hurt to try it. Add a survey asking your members if they would like to keep it: Yes or No. Note that the survey ends in ten days or two weeks. Share the results with your members and allow them to make the decision or... make it on your own.

Adding this to our sites as an option may be welcome by other admins. Let's hear what they think about it.
Cool

So far... I am hearing mostly positive reviews. Aside from the initial confusion. We will be following up with an email to the admins today.

I think classmates will enjoy this new feature. I have created several pages of flashbacks to the 50s and 60s and they are discussed in the message forum.

Thanks so much for the addition to our site!

Since I have music on our first page, it it difficult to hear Rewind. Can it be moved to another page?

As REWIND is in the right modules, it is only available on the home page. Maybe we'll have a pop out one day.

You can put it on any page you want. Just go into source mode, copy the code shown and paste it on another page Idea

Can also be made into a popup real easy.

Thanks, Jack!
When I get enough sleep, maybe I'll remember the obvious!

When is this thing updated? It's 6:00 AM on the 17th and yesterday's is still on my homepage. I don't want to point classmates to outdated material.

It's on a daily script to update in middle of night. I'll have a programmer check it out.

Thanks for checking that, Joe!
I always enjoy your music history but have not been updating my "Memory Lane" as I was. I need to get back to that!

Thanks for checking on it, Brad.

I clicked "active" to make Rewind live, but nothing comes up on my homepage. Can you please take a look and see if there's a glitch or maybe it just takes a while??? Thanks!

Hm, Jana. I moved it up two (above 'today in history') hoping that would trigger it. We'll have the office look at it again in the morning.

Sorry my attempt did not work.

Have a good week!

Whatever was happening must have been resolved. Everything looks normal.
