Is there a way to change the message forum list of messages to go from most recent down to oldest??

Do you mean the Topic list? If so that already goes from most recently added to oldest. The thread level itself reads from top to bottom just like these forums here so people can read responses in consecutive order. Otherwise people would have to scroll all the way to the bottom of the thread, then scroll backwards and read entries from the bottom up to read in consecutive order, which I think most people would find pretty unnatural.

On our the home page, it is the message forum where classmates can post messages back and forth. Our oldest messages are coming up 1st and you have to scroll all the way to the bottom to see whats new. Sorry i see where you would have thought i was talking about this one

Oh sorry, you mean your OLD message forum. I got used to posts here being about the new threaded message forums so I thought that's what you were talking about.

Why not turn on your new "User Forums", name them whatever you want with your Forum preferences link, and use those instead? You have a ton more flexibility with the new threaded forums than you had with the original forums.
