Can a video be added directly to the site, or do you have to embed a youtube video as the only option to displaying a video on site?

The easiest option is YouTube. Videos will stream from YouTube better as well. If you do it through our system, you need to have enough code knowledge to get the code for a player, change the code so that it points to your image that is hosted in our system. Upload the video into our system via the Link button to the file vault. This will also be counted against your allotted file vault space.

So, technically, yes you can. But it is usually highly preferred that you look to youTube for this solution.
