Hello,

We have a classmate who has had an extremely bad string of luck. Last year, she had twins that were still born and then just this month, she delivered a baby that required a partial liver transplant from the father.

As you can imagine, the bills are piling up and we are thinking of options to make collecting funds as easy as possible. I am trying to find out if they have a Caring Bridge site up that may take this work from us but I dont know at this point. Since our Reunion is over could/should I setup another "Reunion" but name it something else like "ClassmateX Donations" and open it up to Credit Card transactions to then be sent to the bank on their behalf?

Thanks for any help you guys can give,

Chuck

I would do this:

1) Click Edit Site Pages
2) Click the Edit button next to Home Page
3) Place a checkmark to activate your Donations module
4) At the right click the "manage donations" text link
5) Describe your cause in the text area
6) Save

You need to have a PayPal account to use this, but if you don't have one opening one is very easy of course. This is probably the quickest/best way of allowing people contribute.

We would like to do this from the Donation page, but would like the person to be able to fill in the person's name they want to donate for.

ie.

Donation in Memory of [ ]
Amount: [ ]

Hi Steve,

We don't have that option under donations.

I have seen some admins create a separate Event Planner and call it Dedication Donations or something along those lines.

The event Planner allows you to add a custom question on page 2. Your donation would be added as the only activity in that Planner and have a custom question asking who it is dedicated to. You could also add a custom question that has a longer entry space for them to add dedication comments.
