I'm having a problem getting links to work to other offsite pages. Like a link to the High School web site. It says can't find. I copy it and paste it just like it is in the url. Can anyone supply a little help here? Thanks

What specific links are you referring to, on what pages?

This one for example - http://www.hotlinkfiles.com/files/1717524_qeu2t/35info.txt -- simply doesn't work. That external is reporting too many connections currently. So it's some issue on their end. Let me know if there's an other link you'd like me to investigate.

Yeah I know about the hotlinks problems. Their server is usually overrun.
What I was trying to do was to have one of the pages set up for external links.
Like I could have a link to the High School Home Page, To the local News Paper, or to a file on photobucket for the SR pictures. Where ever I wanted to let them click and go.
Thanks for your help and quick response.

Can you tell me what specific link, on what specific page of your site, is not working?

I'm sorry Brad, maybe I didn't describe my problem. I haven't put any links on the pages yet. I tried and couldn't get them to work so I deleted them. I was going to try to use one of the customizable link pages to add several links to external pages. But can't seem to get the links to work.
Thanks

Hey Brad, I got it figured out. Thanks for your help. I was just adding the www at the beginning of the url when I should have left it off and it was duplicating it and giving an url like www.www.whatever.com
Thanks again.

Ah ok. The best thing to do is include the http:// -- i.e. you want to include the full web address including the http and the www. That's the best way to make sure it will work correctly in all web browsers. For instance, if you wanted to link to our site, you would use this full link:

Dear Brad. I am having this same problem and I don't understand why because it has always worked for me. I'm setting up a new Survey page called Favorite Links. I put a .jpg called Suddenly Senior and tried to link to www.suddenlysenior.com but the link just won't work. I put the target="_blank" in there also. Don't know what I'm doing wrong! Can you take a look? I wouldn't bother you but after 2 hours, I'm really frustrated. Confused Thanks

You know you're in trouble when posts start with "Dear Brad." I feel like I've got my own newspaper column. Smile

You included 2 links to Suddenly Senior, 1 text link and one image link. Your text link was working perfectly, spawning the new window as it should. Your image link was not working perfectly because somehow the syntax of the image code got messed up. I fixed it, but if that should ever happen again, just delete your image and reupload it. The put your link on it again.
