Can I set a password for a member who has not previously registered with the site?

For someone who has not registered... log out and join as if you are them using their email address...and then set the password. Then log out and log back in as yourself.

Mark, what's driving you to do this? It seems if a classmate wants to join the site, he/she can easily do it himself/herself. I'd certainly be sure you have the permission of the classmate before you join as them, using Scott's method above.
