The administrators on our site keep getting a spam letter from a person (who we don't know).
Just wondering how we block an address, does the main administrator have to do it?
And is anyone else getting this crazy email or is it only us?

Email that comes through the Contact Us form includes the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the sender.

Class Creator is going to want to know that IP number so they can block that IP address.

The IP address is a series of numbers separated by dots (periods) and is the unique identifier of the sender.

so CC has to block these type of emails? We can't do it from the website? How annoying something like this can be. We have all gotten this same email 3-4 times, can't ignore it any more.
Wonder how these people pick their targets.

That IP address is in Hong Kong, Barbara.

I used http://www.ip2location.com/ to locate it.

Bad guys build webcrawlers to find opportunities like "Contact Us" and misuse them. CC has blockers built in to their servers so when the same IP address starts posting on too many Contact Us forms in a short time they can automatically cut them off.

But Brad will tell you those who build these nuisance crawlers are always trying to figure out the techniques sites like CC use to block them.

Thank you again John, hope no other CC websites have gotten this one. So it can/will be blocked?
