Register a classmate link not working

I want to register someone who will pay at the door but who has already joined our website. Their name comes up, but when I click on it, all it get is the details of the event, but no option to register them. What is wrong?

Your registration deadline has already passed (Fri, Apr 22, 2016). Go to Event Planner > Edit > Edit This Event > Edit Activity > Change the date to a date later than today > Save and Close Event > Publish. Then repeat the registration process for you member.
