How to place text adjacent to graphic

I notice that several people have graphic images placed adjacent to text on their site pages. How does one do this? I have no problem getting a graphic on the page, but when I type text I can't get it to display directly next to the image; instead it ends up above or below the image. ????

Cheryl, Edit Site Pages, Edit home Page (assuming your image is on the HOME PAGE)
