Gallery Creator adding photos problem

I'm having trouble adding photos to the 68 I've successfully loaded into a new gallery (60th Class Reunion Buffet).

When I click Add Photos it allows me to point to the new photos I want to load and it seems to upload them and then just hangs at Uploading...100%.

If I refresh the page, the 'Uploading...!00%' goes away, but the new pictures are not added to the previous 68 photos.

Help!

Try closing the browser and opening it again before you do the next batch and also wait longer once it says 100% - your browser may be caching them on upload and it might still be processing.

No luck, I tried going in and out of browser, waiting for an hour (still showing 100%...Uploading. Refreshed page and the 100%...Uploading went away but no pictures added.

So I started a new gallery (60th Photos 2) under the same Link: 60th Reunion. I did an upload of some new photos and it did the same thing as in the first paragraph. I can't even load ANY photos into the new gallery.

So to recap, I started a Gallery under the link 60th Reunion. Gallery's name: 60th Class Reunion Photos. I successfully loaded 68 photos. When I tried adding photos to the original 68... no luck. It shows 100% but hangs on Uploading.

I created a second Gallery under the link 60th Reunion, entitled 60th Photos 2. And this time none of the new photos loaded.

I'm at a loss and growing frustrated. Help

Definitely broken. PLUS looks like my inactive galleries had all their photos deleted.

Jack:
Maybe I should feel better knowing that others are also having uploading problems, but I'm just MORE concerned that the problem is bigger than me.

We just had a reunion and classmates are waiting (and becoming more and more impatient) for photos. Have you any alternative to Gallery to get 100 photos on the website?

As the site administrator, you could have classmates email you their photos, then create a custom page titled 60th Class Reunion and upload the photos to that page. Causes you to do all the work, but it would bypass your Photo Galleries page and get your photos up on your site. We've always created a custom page for your reunions and never used Gallery Creator.

You can upload your photos to the file vault. Those will not be resized and typically look better.

Then link them into an app I made that has various methods to display them. ALL end up giving a "gallery" display that goes from one photo to the next. They will be larger than the CC style and typically look much better since the images have not been transformed by the CC code compression.

This is a link to the documentation.

This is a link to one type of the various display choices.

Thanks Scott! Good idea, a bit of work but the CC Gallery is a pain.

To: All and Jessica:

This is actually embarrassing because I know better: the reason for the loading glitch (in my case) is due to the fact that the photos from our classmates are .heic and not .jpg or .bmp.

I converted them to jpeg and the upload went fine.

Thinking about the hours I spent changing browsers, platforms, standing on my head etc., I feel a bit foolish. Although the HEIC format (Apple centric) is increasingly transparent to many applications, it's a problem on CC websites, evidently.

But Jack's approach may lead to some more interesting displays. So, that's a plus! Thanks to all!

Hi Jack,

Can you please check with the other admin(s) on your site. We have not removed any photos from inactive galleries.
