I'm trying to add a few pages of names using the Excel templete but am having an awful time. I have a student administering names for us, but he's in exams at the moment, so I am doing some for him. I downloaded the templete, saved it in my documents. I opened it up and highlighted the names your site has to show us how to enter them but can't delete them. I know it says to delete these first. Do I need the excel program before this works? and after I receive your reply, do I just type the first and last name(all that we want), separated with a comma?

Yes you need to be using Excel to do this. With Excel you should have no problem deleting the sample names. No you do not want to use commas anywhere on your spreadsheet.
