How do I return profile generator to the default settings please.

Most important one is the address question. It is no longer private and shown openly. Example The question of favorite teacher is answered with an answer that belongs to a different question.

I responded to your other post as well as responding to Philip on this matter. Here is the response. It is a duplicate response as this question was posted in more than one area.

For now I have changed the Mailing address field back to a Favorite Teacher field because far more answers match the Favorite Teacher field.

Mailing address is part of the default system under Member Functions > Edit Contact info -- this information is private (not public) and is available to admins only.

I highly recommend not having an address field on the profile and instead directing classmates to update their contact information under Member Functions > Edit Contact Info.

I did create a new mailing address field but made it inactive only so I could copy over an example of what you had for mailing address should you decide to add it later.

Do you recall when you made this change and how many people have responded to it? If not, you can download the Manage Classmates > Download Class List by year and review the field to see who added an address rather than a teacher comment and go remove those or move them to their Details page under
Manage Classmates > Enter/Edit Classmates > Details page (contact info) and Profile (to remove address entered under Favorite Teacher).

Thank you Jessica. Although I am pretty good using the edit site pages, this sounds really confusing and I am afraid we may screw it up more.But I'll give it a shot.

You don't need to change profile generator.

Step 1 - Just check the class list using the download class list in the instructions from my last response above

Step 2 - Check the Favorite Teacher field in the download- look for addresses

Step 3 - if you find an address rather then teacher information go to
Manage classmates > Enter/edit classmates > Profile page for that classmate and remove the address

You still have their address in the download you will be reviewing.

Step 4 - Go their > Details page (next to their Profile link in that same
Enter/edit classmates area) and check to see if the address they have listed matches the address in the field you just removed from their profile. If it doesn't match you can update their address here.

That is the best way to clean up the list.

If you want classmates to make sure their addresses are current just Email the Class and tell them to go t
Member Functions > Edit Contact info

That information is only visible to admins and each classmate can see only their own Edit Contact info so you will have updated addresses that won't be public on profiles
